19.05.2017 – With the beginning of the summer term two distinguished sports economists from the USA and Switzerland presented their research in Tuebingen. On Wednesday, 10th May 2017, Professor Dennis Coates – President of the North American Association of Sports Economists and Editor of the Journal of Sports Economics – introduced to the topic of „Demand for sports events: live and broadcast“. One week later Dr. Alex Krumer – Post-doctoral fellow at the Swiss Institute for Empirical Economic Research (SEW) in the University of St. Gallen – presented his latest research on „First in first win: Evidence on unfairness of round-robin tournaments in mega-events“ (Interview on BBC).
