Two PhDs in Sports Economics awarded

12.09.2017 – In July and September, two PhD students successfully completed their PhD projects in sports economics.

On July 14th, Ute Schüttoff defended her thesis on „An economic analysis of the determinants and effects of sports participation – On the relevance of settings”. Two month later, Georgios Nalbantis defended his thesis on „Perceived game uncertainty and suspense: A test of the uncertainty of outcome hypothesis using a stated preference approach”.

Selected findings of their research projects were already published in renowned journals, such as Economic Inquiry, Social Science Quarterly, Journal of Sports Economics and Journal of Sports Sciences.
