Besides German and foreign language books, journals and newspapers, the University Library also holds microforms, maps and scores. On top of this, numerous e-books, e-journals and digitized works are available for use online.

Almost all the works are recorded in Catalog plus, while for some types of media there are additional research options.

The University Library has

• numerous specialist areas
• as well as the Specialist Information Services focusing on Theology, Religion Studies and Criminology.

Based on the former Special Subject Collections (collection focuses), the University Library has special inventories in the fields of Oriental Studies and  Eastern and South East Asia.
