Tübingen/Tokyo: International Sports Management Certificate

02.08.2016 – A new cooperation between the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences in Tübingen and the Graduate School of Business at the Rikkyo University offers the opportunity for Master students in Sport Management from Tübingen to study one term abroad in Tokyo.

The exchange will be realized in summer term (March/April-July, ideally during the fourth term of the Sport Management study program) and covers four courses (amongst others International Sports Marketing und International Sports Finance) from the Master of International Business study program at the Rikkyo University. Students who successfully passed these four courses will also receive a Joint International Sports Management Certificate from the Graduate School of Business (Rikkyo) and the Institute of Sports Science (Tübingen).

The Rikkyo University is a private university in Tokyo/Japan with around 20,000 students. Since 2014, the university belongs to the Top Global Universities in Japan and cooperates with the University of Tübingen also in other study programs offered by the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences. The new cooperation in Sport Management was initiated by Nobuya Takezawa (Professor of Finance at Rikkyo University) and Tim Pawlowski (Professor of Sport Economics at the University of Tübingen) during a research and teaching stay in Tokyo.
