The Platform Environmental Systems links the existing research groups in the field of environmental research at the University: Geo- & environmental sciences, chemistry, biology, physics, maschine learning, social sciences, ethics, law and humanities. The platform addresses relevant and highly interdisciplinary environmental research challenges and aims at a close cooperation with research institutes, environmental agencies, regulators, small and medium sized enterprises, industry and industry associations, where it also acts as a contact point. Upcoming research themes may be taken up rapidly and tackled by interdisciplinary research groups. Results and achievements are presented to the public during regular thematic workshops, symposia and courses. The platform is part of the Excellence Strategy of the University of Tübingen.
