Dance project in Marseille: Tübingen students perform internationally

From April 14 to 22, ten dancers from the Sports Institute, led by Sandra Dreher Mansur, the subject coordinator for gymnastics and dance, traveled to Marseille. A week-long dance project took place there in collaboration with the Aix Marseille Université.

The students took the opportunity to explore the city and train with local dancers.

The highlight of the trip was a performance at the Theater des Calanques, where the piece “Marseille” was performed. It expressed various aspects of the city, including the famous monument “Castellane”, through dance. The choreography established a creative link between Tübingen and Marseille.

A special thanks goes to the CIVIS Alliance, which supported the project as part of its Erasmus+ initiative, as well as to the DAAD PROMOS program of the University of Tübingen and Aix-Marseille Université.
The event showed that dance can connect people across national borders.

The photos of the event, taken by the participating students, impressively show the intercultural encounter and the commitment of the participants.
