Nominated for Student Academy Award - Drowning by Sara Cevik
In Sara Cevik's experimental short Drowning, a young woman confronts a childhood shaped by sexual violence. Set in surreal dreamscapes in a lakeside forest, the film shows how childhood trauma echoes throughout an individual's life. Created at the Institute of Media Studies as a bachelor thesis under the supervision of Dr. Ulrich Hägele, the film has now been nominated for the Student Academy Awards. Previously, the film had already won the "Human Rights and Legality" category at the TimeLine Film Festival in Monza, Italy.
