Congratulations to Maik who receives the Friedrich Hirzebruch PhD prize 2025 from Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes for his dissertation at the Philipps-University of Marburg and the Max Planck Institute for Terrestrial Microbiology. Applying a multidisciplinary methodological approach his work provides groundbreaking insights into the mechanisms of T4 phage infection of E. coli, the interaction of phage and host and the role of a particular RNA modification therein.
