Abstract

Dr. Mikheev will provide an overview of the state of Rus epigraphy. The main focus will be on two types of inscriptions. The first are stone inscriptions, numbering about a couple of dozen. They originate mainly from the north of the East Slavic territory, especially from the principality  of Polotsk. The latter are graffiti on church walls, numbering in the thousands. Among them, inscriptions of pilgrims from Rus abroad will also be considered.
