If you have questions concerning the B.Ed. English (e.g. about the coursework or the curriculum), credit recognition (course recognition for courses from other universities), or the change of your study programme, you can contact me via e-mail. In all of these matters, please consult the Virtual Student Guide for the B.Ed. English first. Please be specific in what it is you want and need from me in your e-mail including all personal details (current course of study, student ID, etc.) and please attach all necessary documents to your e-mail for any type of credit recognition (transcript of records, course descriptions, copies of assignments or exams, if necessary).

Lilian Chaitas studied English and German for becoming a teacher in secondary education (Staatsexamen) and American Studies and German Literature towards an M.A. at Eberhard Karls University Tübingen, Germany, and at Wadham College at the University of Oxford, Great Britain. She is an alumna of the German Academic Scholarship Foundation (Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes).
Upon her graduation, she became a Ph.D. candidate specializing in theories of cultural avant-gardism and American poetry of the mid-to-late twentieth century at the American Studies Department at Tübingen University. She later also joined the department as a research fellow and academic advisor. In 2013, she completed her Ph.D. thesis which was published in an revised and extended version as Being Different: Strategies of Distinction and Twentieth-Century American Poetic Avant-Gardes with Ferdinand Schöningh.
After finishing her teacher training in 2015, she continued to worked as a full-time teacher of English and German at a secondary school in Stuttgart.
Since 2016, Lilian Chaitas has been Associate Professor for Teaching English Literatures and Cultures at the University of Tübingen.
Her current teaching and research focus on integrating literature (both capital 'L' and small 'l' literature) in the competence-based EFL classroom. She is also program coordinator and special advisor for the Bachelor of Education offering advice and guidance for students in the University's Bachelor degree program for teaching English at secondary schools.
