Conventional semester apparatuses are set up by individual chairs to ensure rapid access to the literature recommended in the seminar in question and to prevent individual seminar participants from blocking a book for weeks at a time.

Special lending period:
There is a special loan period for the semester apparatus until the end of the course:
- The literature is permanently available at the sites, i.e. normal borrowing and reservations are not possible!
- Holdings from the University Library that are particularly worthy of protection (e.g. rare books, books published before 1900, etc.) can only be made available at the UB.
Books from the semester collections are available at the Ammerbau Information Desk.
