Dissertations

First things first: We must have the peer reviewed version of your dissertation as only this version can be published. You must also have all necessary rights to text and images used in the document. Additionally, you must have the copyrighted rights of use to your work and must not have made any agreements contrary to the rights granted in this contract.

More information about electronic dissertations and printed dissertations.

Electronic dissertations

If you only want to publish your dissertation in electronic form, you can upload it to our publication server.

Data can be transferred to the repository of the University of Tübingen after logging in using your password (university login ID or guest access) via an online form on the publication system.

Your document may include text, graphics, audio and/or video clips. Dissertations must be uploaded in both PDF(/A) format and original format (e.g. Word, Latex files (zipped)). However only the PDF file will be published.

Printed dissertations

You can publish your dissertation through a commercial publisher or one of our university presses (see flyer). The legal deposit copy right means that by law a version of your publication must be submitted to Tübingen University Library. Each legal deposit copy must contain the title page of the dissertation (already bound or loose enclosure).

Dissertations and all documents related to electronic publication can be handed in at the information desk Ammerbau from Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

In each case please include the print approval/approved title page and, if applicable, the approval from the Dean’s Office for this form of publication.

They can also be sent in by post:
