Values – Students in discussion with elite sport actors

02.11.2016 – In times of major challenges and crises around the globe, it is often argued that society should remember and rely on its values. Such statements give some impetus to think and discuss about the meaning and relevance of values like freedom, fairness, empathy and responsibility.

13 (current and former) students from the Bachelor program “Sports Journalism” at the University of Tübingen discussed these values related sports with different elite sport actors like Simon Schempp, Kim Bui, Andreas Wellinger, Markus Weise and Maurizio Gaudino.

These interviews and further essays are now published in a book, edited by Dr. Verena Burk, senior lecturer at the Department of Sport Economics, Sport Management and Media Research, as well as Rainer Nübel, journalist, author and lecturer at the Institute of Sports Science in Tübingen.
