Frequently Asked Questions

Our FAQs answer the most important questions about training in our strength and fitness hall.

Initial Admission

Are you new here? Then you've come to the right place! We will explain how you can sign-up with us so that nothing stands in the way of your fitness journey.

(Kopie 2)

How can I register?

You can book tickets on the University Sports Website in the Strength and Fitness Hall section. Here you will find the Ticket booking page.

If you are signing up for the first time, you must first book the “initial admission” service fee. This service fee costs €25 and is charged once* in order to create an account in our booking system and thus gain access to ticket booking. We also offer our new members a complimentary introductory coaching session, which is included in this package.

Alternatively, you also have the option of registering directly in-person at the Strength and Fitness Hall. You can then start training immediately afterwards.
*Due to the system, a validity period of 12 months is noted when booking the ticket; however, the “initial admission” service fee is only charged once.

When booking, I am always redirected to a 12-month contract. Why is that?

If you are signing up for the first time, you must first book the “initial registration” service fee. This service fee costs €25 and is charged once* in order to create an account in the booking system and thus gain access to ticket booking. If you have not yet booked this, our booking system will automatically redirect you to the booking page for the service fee "ticket".

If you have already booked and paid for the “First Admission” service fee, you may have entered different contact information when booking it than the contact information you entered when booking a new ticket. In this case, ask about this in person at the Strength and Fitness Hall and we will correct it.
*Due to the system, a validity period of 12 months is noted when booking the ticket; however, the “initial admission” service fee only has to be paid once.

Do I have to book the ‘initial registration’ ticket if I do not wish to take part in the introductory training?

Yes, in addition to the introductory training, the €25 also includes other services and system components.

It says online that the ‘initial registration’ service fee is only valid for 12 months.

Unfortunately, the 12-month period is a system-related matter, but it will be automatically extended. So don't worry, the ‘initial registration’ service package is a one-time payment and does not expire.

How often is the ‘initial registration’ ticket due?

The ‘initial registration’ ticket, costing €25, is payable once when you first register with us.

Tickets & booking

Would you like to become a long-term customer? Great! That's what we want too! To ensure you know exactly how and where to get a ticket, you will find all the important information here.

(Kopie 4)

Where can I book my ticket?

You can book tickets on the university sports website in the weight and fitness hall section. Here you will find the menu item ticket booking.

Alternatively, you can also register directly on site at the weight and fitness hall. You can then start training immediately afterwards.

How do I receive my ticket?

Immediately after booking, your ticket will be displayed. It is recommended to take a screenshot.

You will also receive your ticket, along with the payment details for the bank transfer, by email. Click on the highlighted link “view here,” enter your email address once more, and you will be redirected to your ticket. You can either print it and present it manually or show a screenshot.

Do I have to bring my ticket with me every time?

Yes, but a screenshot or photo of your ticket that you can show us is also sufficient.

If you do happen to forget it, just speak to one of our friendly trainers at check-in. We'll be happy to help you.

Do I have to print my ticket, or is a screenshot enough?

A screenshot is completely sufficient.

Are there discounts?

Students of our university or any other university/college pay 50% less than external participants for all our tickets.

Employees of the University of Tübingen or the University Hospital of Tübingen pay 25% less than external participants.

You can view the exact ticket prices here.

Do I have to show proof of my status every time?

No. When you first register and at the beginning of each new semester, you must present proof of status (student ID/certificate of enrolment or employee ID). Once this has been checked by a trainer, you do not need to present it again for the rest of the semester.

Does my ticket renew automatically?

No, it does not. The validity period is indicated on your ticket. After this period expires, your ticket ends and a new one must be booked.

Can I pause my training?

Your ticket can only be paused in exceptional cases. If you are unable to train for more than 6 weeks due to illness or injury, you may pause your ticket by presenting a medical certificate.

What payment options are available?

Currently, payment is only possible via bank transfer.

The necessary payment details can be found on your ticket, which will be sent to you by email after booking. Please don’t forget to include the payment references. Otherwise, we cannot assign your payment. If you can only specify one reference, write both references one after the other.

I can’t book a ticket online. Why is that?

If you can’t book a ticket online, it usually means that you have forgotten to pay for your ticket twice in a row, and it was therefore canceled. In this case, please contact our director, Dr. Dennis Murr, by email.

Of course, there may be other reasons. Just stop by, and we’ll be happy to help!

(Kopie 12)

How do I book an introductory training session?

To book an introductory session, you first need to become a customer. That means you need to purchase the "initial registration"-ticket (€25, one-time fee), which registers you in our system and gives you access to ticket booking.

Booking steps:

  1. On your “Initial Registration” ticket, you’ll find a button/link leading to our booking page.

  2. Select your preferred date, click “Book,” and follow the website steps.

  3. You will receive a confirmation email with a link to your ticket.

  4. Bring your introductory training ticket with you to your session.

Is introductory training mandatory?

No, it’s optional. But the “Initial Registration” ticket must still be purchased, as the €25 fee covers service and system costs.

What happens during introductory training?
  1. Book the “initial registration” ticket
As our introductory training is aimed at our new customers, the "initial registration"-ticket must first be booked and paid for. This ticket costs €25 and is a one-time fee* required to be registered in our booking system and thus gain access to ticket booking. The introductory training is included in this €25 fee.

  2. Book an appointment
On your ticket for the ‘Initial registration’ tickete, there is a button/link to register for an introductory training session. Choose a date by simply click on ‘book’. After booking, we will send you a confirmation email.

During our introductory training session, you will learn important basic exercises using equipment as well as key training principles, so that nothing stands in the way of your training in our strength and fitness hall. You will also receive an introductory training plan.

Important: Our introduction is aimed at people who are just starting to train. We therefore primarily demonstrate exercises on the equipment. If you want to learn exercises with free weights (e.g. squats, bench presses or deadlifts), we recommend that you attend one of our workshops or book a coaching session. The training plan is aimed at people whose goal is to start equipment-based strength training. If you have specific goals, such as targeted training for a particular sport/discipline, we ask you to arrange a coaching session. We can then select the right trainer for your needs.
