Room of Silence

Since 2013, the university library has housed a "Room of Silence" in the transition between the Bonatzbau and the main building.

It was set up by the University of Tübingen to be open to members of all religions for individual prayer and meditation. However, it can also serve as a retreat for people without religious convictions for a moment of silence and pause.

The furnishings were deliberately kept reduced and not decorated with religious symbols to emphasize the non-denominational orientation. With lots of light wood, large windows and sound-absorbing textile-covered furniture, the room is intended to invite you to take a break and offer the best conditions for meditation and relaxation.

Please observe the "Order of the Room of Silence" when you are using it and take everything back with you that you might use there. Found objects will be given to the lost and found.
