PhD Award 2018 for Dr. Georgios Nalbantis

21.07.2018 – The University of Tübingen awarded to Dr. Georgios Nalbantis on behalf of the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences the PhD Award 2018 in recognition of his outstanding dissertation "Perceived game uncertainty and suspense: A test of the uncertainty of outcome hypothesis using a stated preference approach".

The award was handed over by the President of the University Prof. Dr. Bernd Engler together with the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences Prof. Dr. Josef Schmid during the annual PhD Graduation Ceremony.

The PhD project by Dr. Nalbantis was supported by the FIFA / CIES João Havelange Research Fellowship. Central findings were published in renowned journals such as Economic Inquiry and the Journal of Sports Economics

The project is affiliated to Research Line 1 „Leagues and Competitions“ of the Department Sport Economics, Sport Management and Media Research and was supervised by Prof. Dr. Tim Pawlowski. Prof. Dr. Christian Deutscher (University Bielefeld) served as second examiner.
