Together with other researchers and stakeholders from the organized sport in Germany, core issues related to discrimination, doping, sexual abuse, corruption, and match fixing in sport were discussed.

The main objective of the workshop was to combine scientific knowledge and practical expertise to advance prevention against the aforementioned threats to the integrity in sport – which is considered an inherent feature of all sporting competitions relating to principles of fair play and a level playing field.

Next to presenting and discussing the preliminary results of the project “Integrity in Sport” – which is funded by the German Federal Institute of Sports Science (BISp) – the workshop provided a unique platform for discussions on the effectiveness and applicability of existing prevention measures.

Special thanks go to the German Federal Institute of Sports Science (BISp) for their financial support as well as all participants for their valuable contributions to the project.
