With regard to practical sports education, the focus in the Department of Sport Psychology and Research Methods is on sports games. The following courses are offered by the teaching team of the department:

  • Didactics and methodology of small games
  • Didactics and Methodology of Integrative Sports Game Teaching
  • Football basic course & advanced course
  • Handball basic course & advanced course
  • Basketball basic course & advanced course

Within the framework of practical sports education, the focus is on both self-realisation and methodological-didactic content. Different approaches to teaching sports games are discussed and reflected upon. The concept of "Teaching Games for Understanding" is central to this and, with the principle of "playing before practising", stands as a guiding idea for the teaching of all sports games in the work area of the Department of Sport Psychology and Research Methods.
