Here you can find a listing of different institutions in Eastern and Southern Africa where internships can be realized. The Department of Social and Cultural Anthropology has already established contacts with various internship providers in Madagascar, Namibia and Tanzania. Depending on the content, the internship should last between three to six months. There is no right to an internship in the institutions listed below. There is also the possibility to look for an internship place by yourself. In order to plan the internship, it is recommended to get in touch with the respective contact person timely.


Madagascar

Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst, Antananarivo
The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) was founded in 1925 and is the world's largest funding organization for the international exchange of students and scholars.

Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), Madagascar
GIZ works on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) in Madagascar.

Goethe-Institute Antananarivo
The Goethe-Institut Antananarivo (Cercle Germano-Malagasy CGM) organizes and supports a wide range of cultural events for the presentation of German culture abroad and for intercultural exchange.

Pasch e.V Schulpartnerschaften
"Schools: Partners for the Future" (PASCH) was founded in 2008 by the German Federal Foreign Office. More than 1,700 partner schools with special ties to Germany are supported by this initiative.

World Wildlife Fund (WWF), Madagascar
WWF is committed to conserving the world's biodiversity and safeguarding the world's most important eco-regions.

Zaza Faly e.V. and ONG Manda
The non-profit association ZAZA FALY e.V. was founded in 1994 in Berlin. Its goal is to support children living in poverty, orphans and street children in Antananarivo, Madagascar.

Namibia

Dolam Children’s Home Trust Windhoek
The Dolam Children's Home Trust (DCHT) was founded in 1999 by Rosa Namises. Since then, children suffering from HIV/AIDS have been helped there.

Goethe-Institute Windhoek
The Goethe Center in cooperation with the Namibian-German Foundation in Windhoek is the only German cultural center in Namibia.

Pallium - Forschung und Hilfe für soziale Projekte e.V.
Pallium e.V. was founded in 2004. The association supports people in Africa who have fallen on hard times - especially as a result of illness - and promotes initiatives for orphans and vulnerable children in Namibia.

Tanzania

King'Ori - Community Knowledge Center
King'Ori was founded in 2012 and is a community-organized organization with the goal of knowledge transfer in the field of media and communication technology.
