Successful defense of the dissertation of Nhan Thanh Stamer
On March 28, 2025, Nhan Thanh Stamer successfully defended her dissertation at IAAT. Ms Stamer has worked on two current topics of astrophysical research. On the one hand, she has provided important contributions to the studies of two supernova remnants that have been discovered in the TeV band and are therefore potential sources of Galactic cosmic rays. On the other hand, she has investigated differences in populations of clusters of galaxies which arise from different selection strategies; such differences are specifically relevant when using these populations in cosmological studies. The title of her dissertation is "Capturing the hot and violent Universe: Multiwavelength studies of Galactic TeV-discovered Supernova remnant shells and of optically-selected galaxy clusters". Congratulations for the successful defense.
Ms Stamer will leave the institute to start a postdoc position at Nara Women's University in Nara, Japan. We wish her all the best for her future career.
