Achievements

  • Students enrolled in the Master of Studies in Modern Languages program can take all of the master's modules offered there and will receive a transcript of records at the end of the program with the corresponding ECTS credits for each element of the master's program.
  • The tuition fees for the program are covered by the University of Oxford (there is also no registration fee).
  • In addition, it is possible to combine further scholarships with Erasmus funding (more detailed information can be found here), e.g., Auslandsbafög.
  • Students are assigned a place at a college, which provides a room for the duration of their stay, for which the usual college rent of approximately £600-900 (depending on the college and room category) is charged.

Brief description

The modules in the Master of Studies in Modern Languages offer students courses covering the period from the Middle Ages to the present day. The German studies program ranges from medieval language and literature to contemporary poetry and media art. The different eras can be freely combined within the modules. One of the “Special Subject Modules” can also be chosen from a comparative perspective. The methods module consists of either paleography (with materials from the Bodleian Library), book history and codicology, comparative literature, or literary theory.

  • During the exchange program, you will be registered as an ‘exchange student’ at the University of Oxford.
  • At the end of your stay, you receive a transcript of records with the corresponding ECTS credits for each element of the master's program for recognition at the University of Tübingen. An official master's degree certificate will not be awarded.
  • It is advisable to meet with the program coordinators of the Tübingen master's (or teacher training) programs in advance of the exchange
