A general comment: it is always (nice and) helpful to contact the lecturers of the course you want to attend in advance!

FAQs for Incomings

How can I find possible courses in Tübingen?

If you want to get on overview what kind of courses will be available you can have a look at the “Modulhandbuch” (only in German). Here you find general information which modules (e.g., lectures, seminars, practical courses) are planned. However, the exact topic of a seminar is not specified here. You can use this information if you want to create a provisional curriculum.
For the Learning agreement, you might want to specify the exact courses. You can access the course catalogue via ALMA. That means you have to wait until you have an ALMA account. Most courses will be online 3-4 weeks before the semester starts.

Which courses are in English?

Please note that lectures will be most likely in German. However, most of the time you can ask the Professor whether it is possible to hand in an essay in English.

Can I attend all courses or are there any restrictions?

You can attend all lectures and seminars from the Bachelor Psychology. Please note that it is not possible to attend the courses held in the Bachelor Psychology "polyvalent" as they are designed only for students in the psychotherapy track. Also some practical courses (e.g., “Experimentalpsychologisches Praktikum”) and very few seminars built on previous courses and therefore might be not available. If you want to participate in a seminar or a practical course (in german: “Praktikum”, “Übung” or “Tutorium”), please get in touch with the lecturer, because places are limited. If you want to attend other courses in Tübingen, please get in contact with the lecturer and ask whether it is possible to attend as an Erasmus student. Often this is no problem.

Who will sign my learning agreement?

Please send the learning agreement via email to auslandssemesterspam prevention@psycho.uni-tuebingen.de. The Erasmus coordinator for psychology, Prof. David Dignath, will sign the learning agreement and send it back you (or get in contact with you).

Which kind of exams are possible?

Sometimes it is possible to write an essay or have an oral exam. Always reach out to the lecturer before the course start and clarify which type of exam is possible.

How do I get my ECTS and the Transcript of Record?

Each lecturer will send your final grade to the international office. The international office team will create a Transcript of Record and send this directly to you and your home university. If you have any questions concerning the Transcript of Record please get in contact with the international office. If a course is missing in the Transcript of Record or there is a question concerning the number of ECTS awarded, the easiest solution is to contact the lecturer who graded you directly.
