Research Cooperation with Dōshisha University in Kyoto

Faculty Exchange Program

The Faculty Exchange Program enables researchers from both universities to undertake short- and long-term research stays at the respective partner institution. The aim is to promote academic exchange and deepen institutional cooperation.

Target Group

Researchers from the University of Tübingen and Dōshisha University

Requirements

  • Teaching obligations in Tübingen must be compensated for during the period of absence.
  • Affiliation with an institute at the host university is planned.

Scope of funding

The host university covers the accommodation costs for visiting scholars in Tübingen or Kyoto, while the sending university covers the international flight and transfer costs from Tübingen to Kyoto or from Kyoto to Tübingen and back. For short-term stays, a daily allowance will also be paid. Each year, one researcher from each side will be selected for a short-term stay (max. 3 months) and one researcher for a long-term stay (max. 6 months in Tübingen or max. 12 months in Dōshisha).

Required information

  • Name of the applicant with affiliation to the institute/faculty of the University of Tübingen
  • CV with list of publications
  • Existing collaboration with Dōshisha University – name of the cooperation partner and institute/center at Dōshisha
  • Planned research: research area, joint research project or project planning (2-3 pages)
  • Description of how teaching obligations in Tübingen will be fulfilled during the period of absence (confirmation by the dean)
  • For postdoctoral researchers, a letter of support from the head of the institute
