Postdoctoral Research Fellowships in Intercultural Studies

The research fellowships in Intercultural Studies at the University of Tübingen are aimed at international postdocs who are pursuing an independent research project on intercultural and global issues. Fellows receive funding for up to 12 months, participate in the CoF Focus Group “Intercultural Studies,” and are actively involved in the academic program of the CoF-CIIS.

Target Group

  • International postdocs

  • Researchers from fields including philosophy, anthropology, cultural theory, literary studies, sociology, global studies, Global South studies, environmental studies, and related disciplines

  • Researchers focusing on intercultural, global, and theoretical issues

Requirements

  • Completed doctorate
  • At least two years of scientific work abroad at the time of application
  • Independent research project in the field of intercultural and global studies
  • Willingness to actively participate in focus groups, colloquia, and to organize a workshop
  • Residence in Tübingen during the funding period
  • Very good German and/or English language skills
  • Conducting the research project in German or English

Scope of Funding

  • Monthly stipend: EUR 2,350
  • Funding period: up to 12 months
  • Provision of a workspace by the CoF
  • Inclusion in the CoF Focus Group “Intercultural Studies”
  • Participation in weekly research colloquia
  • Support in organizing an academic workshop
