Global Encounters

Encounters between societies have always brought about cultural change throughout history. This can be observed on the micro-level of everyday interaction as well as on the macro-level of entire systems and societies. By specifically appointing experts with a global research profile, the University of Tübingen has already been able to significantly strengthen the relevant subject areas.

Like the university as a whole, the platform is also increasingly oriented towards "global spaces for action". Building on the cooperation already established, the platform brings together researchers from the social sciences and humanities. Under the title "Global Encounters", they will in future examine the social and cultural effects of mobility and communication. The platform is a format of the excellence strategy of the University of Tübingen.
