Shu Zijie (Seo Jiye) is a Ph.D. candidate in Korean Language Education at Sungkyunkwan University, with a master’s degree in the same field and a bachelor’s degree in International Chinese Education from Beijing International Studies University. Her current research, titled Development of Korean Reading Assessment for Academic Purposes, focuses on creating effective evaluation tools tailored for academic Korean learners.

Shu’s research interests include innovative teaching methodologies for Korean language learners, especially those from Chinese-speaking backgrounds, and she has explored approaches like flipped learning for intermediate academic reading. She has published and presented extensively, covering areas such as grammar acquisition strategies and cross-linguistic influences in speech acts, both nationally and internationally.

Her professional experience includes an educational internship at La Rochelle University in France, where she contributed to applied linguistics programs and cross-cultural exchange initiatives. Shu has been recognized with an Excellence Award from the South Korean National Language Institute for her research in sociolinguistics, and she continues to advance learner-centered approaches in Korean language education through her work and teaching.
