Körtik Tepe is amongst the most important sites of the aceramic Neolithic in Turkey. The flat tell is located southwest of Batman in the province Diyarbakır. Since 2000 it is spart of the salvage excavations in relation with the Ilisu dam building (see link), led by a Turkish-German team.
