Dr. Raphael Zähringer

Raphael Zähringer studied German and English at Tübingen University and Leeds University, UK. He received his Ph.D. from Tübingen University (summa cum laude and awarded with the Prof.-Dr.-Friedrich-Schubel-Stiftung Advancement Award) and is now a postdoctoral researcher and lecturer in English Literatures and Cultures. Since 2015, he also is the assistant editor of the ZAA (Zeitschrift für Anglistik und Amerikanistik). His major areas of research are spatial and cartographic concepts of literature, contemporary literature and culture, Science Fiction and dystopian fiction, popular culture (primarily graphic narrative, adaption studies and game studies), and improvisational theatre. His current research project focuses on interactions between literature and politics against the backdrop of postfactual writing.
