Studying European Culture and Society in Challenging Times - A Meeting of CIVIS Partners

Dear Colleagues,
We cordially invite you to our public evening event on April 22nd at 6 p.m. as an opening event of our meeting "Studying European Culture and Society in Challenging Times - A Meeting of CIVIS Partners", which is hosted by the Ludwig-Uhland-Institut together with colleagues of the University Alliance CIVIS with eight other European universities. The evening event and meeting is also part of the jubilee program celebrating the 50th anniversary of Empirische Kulturwissenschaft in Tübingen.
Under the heading "Ethnologies of the Future: Anthropology and the EU-Agenda", Prof. Dr. Monique Scheer (Ludwig-Uhland-Institut für Empirische Kulturwissenschaft, Tübingen) will discuss developments in our discipline in the context of new European policies in higher education with Prof. Dr. Reinhard Johler (EKW, Tübingen) and Dr. Stefan Groth (Institut für Sozialanthropologie und Empirische Kulturwissenschaft, Zürich). As Vice-Rector for International Affairs and Diversity of the University of Tübingen, Monique Scheer plays a key role in the EU's European Universities Initiative; Reinhard Johler and Stefan Groth both have research expertise in the areas of Europeanization and policies of culture and heritage.
Due to the pandemic, the meeting on April 22nd and 23rd will take place online via Zoom; the evening event on April 22nd at 6 p.m. will also be streamed live on YouTube: https://youtu.be/0GwxwUSNChI

wir möchten Sie ganz herzlich dazu einladen, am 22. April um 18 Uhr an unserer öffentlichen Abendveranstaltung als Auftakt unserer Tagung „Studying European Culture and Society in Challenging Times - A Meeting of CIVIS Partners“ teilzunehmen, die das Ludwig-Uhland-Institut mit Fachkolleg:innen der Tübinger Hochschulallianz CIVIS mit acht weiteren europäischen Universitäten veranstaltet. Die Abendveranstaltung und Tagung ist zudem Teil des Jubiläumsprogramms des LUIs zum 50. Geburtstag der Empirischen Kulturwissenschaft in Tübingen.
Unter dem Titel „Ethnologies of the Future: Anthropology and the EU-Agenda“ wird Prof. Dr. Monique Scheer (Ludwig-Uhland-Institut für Empirische Kulturwissenschaft, Tübingen) am 22. April mit Prof. Dr. Reinhard Johler (EKW, Tübingen) und Dr. Stefan Groth (Institut für Sozialanthropologie und Empirische Kulturwissenschaft, Zürich) über unser Fach im Kontext europäischer Bildungspolitik diskutieren.
Monique Scheer wirkt als Prorektorin für Internationales und Diversität der Universität Tübingen maßgeblich an der European Universities Initiative der EU mit, Reinhard Johler und Stefan Groth forschen beide zu den Schwerpunkten Europäisierung sowie Heritage-Politiken.
