“The sick man of Europe once again? On the prospects of Germany’s economy.” - Achim Wambach

On December 11, 2024, we had the pleasure of welcoming Achim Wambach, President of the ZEW – Leibniz-Zentrum für Europäische Wirtschaftsforschung, to kick off the Winter Semester 2024/25 Fachbereichskolloquium with an insightful lecture titled “The sick man of Europe once again? On the prospects of Germany’s economy.” Speaking to a packed auditorium, Prof. Wambach addressed the current challenges facing the German economy and delved into the Draghi Report on European competitiveness. In his talk, Prof. Wambach highlighted key policy recommendations, including the need for horizontal industrial policy and stronger incentives for research and development.
