Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences

Current: Dual leadership since September 2024

Prof. Dr. Taiga Brahm (Dean of Studies at the Department of Economics and Chair of Economic Education and Business Didactics) and Prof. Dr. Dominik Papies (Chair of Marketing) were unanimously elected as Deans of the WiSo Faculty in dual leadership in a part-time position by the Faculty Council on April 29, 2024. They took office on September 1, 2024. The term of office is five years.

 

We, the staff of the Dean's Office, happily invite you to get to know us and our tasks better!

Since 2010 we have been supporting and administering the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences with its more than 90 professorships, more than 500 employees and researchers as well as around 7,300 students enrolled in the subjects of the Faculty (headcount around 4,800 students). In addition, we can provide a bridge to the central administration for any questions you may have.

The "family-friendly university audit" certificate issued by berufundfamilie gGmbH was awarded to the University of Tübingen on March 15, 2014. The aim is to optimise and expand family-friendly structures within the next years, as the compatibility of work/study with family responsibilities is a central cornerstone of a future-oriented university aiming for equal opportunities. The target agreements, the measures and partial targets as well as further information on the audit can be found on the pages of the family office.

Studying with a disability

The "Framework Guidelines for Dealing with Students with Family Care Obligations"and the "Proposals for standardised compensation services" adopted by the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences are also meant to support students with disabilities and chronic illnesses.
