Professor Hahn is associate professor at Institute for Peace and Unification Studies, Seoul National University. In the public sector, she currently serves as a research fellow on the Researcher of the Academy of Kim Dae-jung Studies, a director of the Korea Peace Forum, a policy advisor to the Ministry of Unification, a member of the Ministry of Unification’s Committee on Peaceful Unification and Democratic Education, and an advisory committee member for forest ecosystem restoration at the Korea Forest Service.
Her primary research topics include the Korean War, the history of the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) and border regions, and the division and reunification of the Korean Peninsula. She is also interested in the field of public history, having served as the overall planner and producer of the “DMZ Peace Map” (https://peacemap.universe.go.kr/main.html), the first comprehensive online map of the DMZ and border regions.
