The EU university programme ERASMUS+ offers students the opportunity to study abroad at a European partner university. Students at the German Department who are interested in spending 3 to 12 months abroad can study at partner institutions at these universities. Erasmus stays abroad are possible at any stage of study (BA, MA and PhD), for a total of up to 36 months.
The agreements within an ERASMUS partnership include:
easier admission requirements
organisational assistance (enrolment, accommodation) and academic support.
exemption from tuition fees at the host university
financial support for additional costs incurred abroad and
agreements on the recognition of academic achievements abroad
The names of the professors currently supervising Erasmus partnerships can be found in the list sorted by country, in brackets after the Erasmus partnerships for which they are responsible. Please contact the subject coordinators and supervising professors if you are interested in an Erasmus stay.

Enrolment at the University of Tübingen
At least one completed academic year before the start of the stay abroad
Good knowledge of the language (from level B1) in which the courses to be attended are held
Basic knowledge of the local language (if not the language of instruction)
The following documents are required for the application:

documentation of special language skills
Application documents should be submitted directly to the relevant academic supervisor in the German Department. It is advisable to arrange an appointment with the relevant supervisor beforehand.

If you have any general questions about the application process, please contact the Erasmus coordinator at the German Department PD Dr. Christoph Kleinschmidt.
Specific information about the partner universities can be obtained from the relevant advisors.
Students who are planning to study at a European university with which the department has no agreement have the option of applying outside their field of study, i.e. through another department that has an agreement, provided that:
the places there remain unused
the subject coordinator is willing to refer applicants from outside the field to the partner university
the partner university accepts applicants from other departments.
Note: Universities in the United Kingdom do not usually accept applications from other departments. In Spain, up to 50% of such applicants are rejected.
A list of all partnerships of the individual departments can be found here.

Yes, you can deregister or reregister from the courses at any time during the registration period. In the so-called withdrawal period, which usually takes place a few weeks after the regular enrollment period, you also have the option to withdraw from the courses. If you wish to withdraw from the course after the withdrawal period, please write an e-mail to the instructor.
What is the difference between "registered" ("angemeldet") und "admitted" ("zugelassen") as a status at alma?
If you have registered for a course, then you have the status "registered" on alma, but you are not yet admitted to the course. You will only be admitted after the end of the registration period, i.e. after 30.9. in the winter semester and after 31.3. in the summer semester.
My registration via alma did not work. Can I register in another way?
If the registration on alma does not work, you have the possibility to register personally with the respective lecturer of the seminar. To do this, send an e-mail to him or her stating that you would like to take part in the course.
When registering, you must click on the respective module for which the service is to be booked. Please make sure that you select the correct module when registering. Usually, exam registration is possible from the beginning of December to mid-January (winter semester) or from the beginning of June to mid-July (summer semester). Important: Please register for each (!) course or examination, regardless of whether it is a graded (6 CP) or ungraded (3 CP) examination. Otherwise, the completion of the course cannot be confirmed / the exam cannot be booked.
How many credit points (CP) do I get for the courses?
Usually: - For 6 CP (mostly seminars) a graded examination (written exam or term paper) is expected. - For 3 CP (seminars or lectures) the completion of ungraded coursework is sufficient.
A Learning Agreement sets out a plan of study that you will undertake abroad as part of an Erasmus exchange. It contains a list of the courses you would like to attend. Your home university will usually provide a Learning Agreement form for you. Once you have selected your courses, it must be signed by the student and the subject coordinator(s) at the home and host universities. Please fill out the learning agreement and send it to your ERASMUS coordinator at your home university and to the responsible supervisor at the German Department:
Can I take language courses at the German Seminar?
You cannot take German language courses at the German Seminar. However, the University of Tübingen offers German language courses in the department "German as a Foreign Language and Intercultural Programs". You can find information about registration here:
