Hector Core Courses

Scientifically Based Support for Gifted Children

The Hector Core Courses are a central element of the Hector Children’s Academies. With a focus on the STEM fields, they were specifically designed for particularly gifted and highly gifted primary school children and are based on current findings from subject didactics, psychology, and research on instructional quality.

The aim of the courses is to provide targeted support for intellectually high-performing childrenboth in subject-specific and interdisciplinary areas. These include, among others, scientific thinking, problem-solving skills, and presentation abilities. The effectiveness of the Hector Core Courses is examined through a multi-stage scientific evaluation process. In successive studies, the extent to which key competencies of the children positively develop through course participation is assessed.
