AniVision wins Best Paper Award at the VISART Workshop
Erwin Feyersinger, Claudius Stemmler and their colleagues win award at the ECCV
The digital humanities project AniVision of the Research Center for Animation and Emerging Media was awarded the Best Paper Award for its submission to the VISART Workshop. The workshop took place on 30 September during this year's European Conference on Computer Vision (ECCV) in Milan and is dedicated to bringing together computer scientists with artists and humanities scholars. The project won the award, sponsored by Adobe, for its paper “Analysis of Hybrid Compositions in Animation Film with Weakly Supervised Learning”.
AniVision is a transnational collaboration between the University of Tübingen and the University of Applied Sciences St. Pölten in Austria. The project uses an interactive, computer-assisted approach to explore a hitherto marginalized part of the stylistic history of animation. The submission is available on arXiv and will be published by Springer as part of the proceedings of the ECCV.
