Workshop "AI and Moving Images"
Workshop on the 4th of Mai 2023 with Jorge Caballero Ramos
This workshop explores how (moving) images can be analyzed, classified, created, and edited using open source and artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms. It will be conducted by Jorge Caballero Ramos who is a film director and producer at Gusano Films and a professor at the Universidad Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona.
Through a theoretical and practical program, workshop attendees will be able to enter into a systemic process of working with AI and images in two stages: The first stage corresponds to the generation of unfilmed images. In a world full of images, how do we re-signify the existing ones, and how do we generate the missing images? The second stage consists of analyzing and relating the images using different artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques.
Participation
Students of Media Studies and related areas at the University of Tübingen are welcome to participate. No previous knowledge is required, and the entrance is free.
The workshop will take place on the 4th of Mai 2023 from 9:30 am – 5 pm in Room 128 (Campus TV) at the Brechtbau (University of Tübingen, Wilhelmstraße 50).
