Portrait

Thomas Eichert is a doctoral candidate in the Department of Korean Studies. His research interests focus on South Korean economic history and the history of German-Korean relations. In particular, he concentrates on the corporate history of German companies in South Korea and their collaboration with Korean firms. His master’s thesis examined the German company Siemens and its joint venture partner Goldstar (now LG) as a case study of cooperation between German and Korean companies during the Park Chung Hee era.
