Das Forschungsprojekt fokussiert sich auf Raumbildungspraktiken bei der Herstellung von Jugenden am Beispiel Selbstorganisierte Bürgerinitiative in sogenannten Common Spaces. Damit sind selbstorganisierte Gemeinschaften gemeint, die öffentliche Räume durch gemeinsame Praktiken und Werte – im Sinne von Commoning – gestalten. Innovative und partizipative Ansätze machen sie zu dynamischen Laboren für die Neugestaltung urbaner und ländlicher Zukünfte – stets mit dem Ziel des kollektiven Nutzens. Im Zentrum steht die Frage, wie jugendkulturelle Praktiken und Lernprozesse durch den Zugang zu und die Mitgestaltung von Common Spaces, hergestellt werden.

The research project focuses doing youth by making space, using the example of self-organized initiatives in so-called Common Spaces. This refers to self-organized communities that shape public spaces through shared practices and values — in the sense of commoning. The innovative and participatory approaches in making use of space, cast them as dynamic laboratories for reimagining urban and rural futures—always with the goal of collective benefit. This project investigates the ways in which youth cultural practices and learning processes within communities are mediated by access to—and agency in shaping—common spaces.
