Forschungsschwerpunkt 2: Ligen & Wettbewerbe
Im Rahmen dieses Forschungsschwerpunkts wird analysiert, wie Sportkonsumenten Entscheidungen unter Unsicherheit treffen. Aus den gewonnenen Erkenntnissen zur Bedeutung von sportlicher Ausgeglichenheit, Ergebnisoffenheit und Spannung für die Sportkonsumenten lassen sich Handlungsempfehlungen zur optimalen Ausgestaltung von Sportligen und -wettbewerben ableiten.
Der Forschungsschwerpunkt 2 ist in den Forschungsschwerpunkt Leistung des Instituts eingebettet. Einige der Studien wurden im Auftrag von Sportligen wie der Major League Soccer durchgeführt und durch die Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) und die Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) mit Forschungsstipendien gefördert.
