Guest scientist Madhavi Reddy at the institute of Media Studies

The Department of Media Studies and the English Department are happy to announce that the Indian Council of Cultural Relations (ICCR) has decided to sponsor the Rotating India Chair 2013 at the University of Tübingen.



The position will be held by Professor Madhavi Reddy, HoD of the Department of Communication Studies at the University of Pune. Prof. Reddy will stay in Tübingen from May to September.

Professor Reddy will teach two courses which will be open to students of the degree programmes at the Department of Media Studies and the English Department, topics ranging from „Media and Morality“ to „Encountering India: Medial Representations and Portrayals of India“, she will also be involved in co-teaching activities at the department of media studies.
Furthermore, a 2-day workshop aimed at PhD students will be held in July. The workshop, titled „Transcultural Media Talk“, will be presented together with Prof. Susanne Marschall and Prof. Anil Bhatti.

Madhavi Reddy will commence her stay in Tübingen with a public inaugural lecture on “Indian Media in a Globalized World: Towards a More Inclusive Identity“
