The workshop takes place in the IG-Farben-Haus (No. 1 on the map that can be found on the campus page linked below), Goethe University’s main building, room IG 311 (ground floor, near the foyer).

The registration desk will be in the foyer of the building. You cannot miss it.

We recommend that you use a mobile app to plan your journeys around Frankfurt. RMVgo is the simplest app. You can search for the app on the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. In the app, you will find a selection of tickets. We recommend buying multiple day tickets (possible without registration) or a weekly ticket (requires online registration at meinRMV).

Printed day tickets can also be bought from ticket machines at all stations for regional transport as well as S-Bahn (suburban train) and U-Bahn (underground train) stations. If there is no ticket machine at a bus stop, passengers can also buy a ticket on the bus from the driving staff. It is very difficult to buy printed weekly tickets as you need a special card for this. We recommend buying them in the app.

Accommodation

Frankfurt can be quite busy with tourists and business travelers in late summer, so we strongly recommend booking accommodation as early as possible. Possible options include Motel One Frankfurt Römer, the Turmhotel, and the Hotel Palmenhof. Of course, there are also many other hotels in the city center and around Campus Westend.

Workshop dinner

There will be a workshop dinner on the first day, Monday, September 21, at 7:00 pm (venue tba). The dinner will be self-paid on site. Registration for the dinner is mandatory and should be completed as part of the workshop registration.

Please prepare your poster in DIN A0 format (841 mm × 1189 mm), portrait orientation. If you would like to print your poster in Frankfurt, we can recommend two copy shops close to campus:

Information for talk presenters

Each contributed talk is allocated 30 minutes, consisting of 20 minutes for the presentation and 10 minutes for discussion. We will use a central presentation laptop for all talks. PDF, PowerPoint, and Keynote files are fine. Please send us your slides by the day before your talk: presenters scheduled for Monday should send their slides by September 20, and presenters scheduled for Tuesday by September 21. We will be present in the room and available before each session for technical checks. We encourage you to test your slides during a break before your session, especially if you use videos or sound. We recommend using slides rather than handouts for your talk. We will not provide printing for handouts. If you would like to distribute printed copies, please use one of the copy shops listed above.

Closer to the workshop, we will also create a shared folder accessible to all registered participants. This folder can be used to share handouts, posters, and/or slides, so that participants can access them during and after the workshop.
