Chou Mu-Yi is from Taipei, Taiwan. She received her BA in political science at National Taiwan University and her MA in comparative politics at the University of Nottingham, U.K. Currently, she is a Ph.D. candidate in political science at Humboldt University of Berlin, Germany. Her ongoing dissertation is concerning regime change by comparing the variation of state-society relations between Taiwan and China from the perspective of NGO development. Her research interests include regime change, authoritarianism, governance issues, and social movements and NGOs.
