Biography

Jui-Ning Chang is a doctoral student at the Graduate Institute of National Development, National Taiwan University. He previously worked as a part-time research assistant at the Risk Society and Policy Research Center (RSPRC), National Taiwan University. His research interests include just transition, renewable energy, energy policy, electricity markets, institutional logics, and institutional theory.

His current research examines how developmental-state legacies shape labor, environmental, and energy-transition governance in Taiwan, with particular attention to embedded injustice under the developmental state. He is especially interested in a comparative analysis of Red–green movements in Taiwan and Europe through the lens of institutional logics, examining how different institutional arrangements shape the interaction between labor and environmental movements. Against the backdrop of the net-zero transition, his research also investigates how Taiwan’s developmental-state legacy and its embedded injustices may produce distinctive patterns of Red–green cooperation, tension, and coalition formation compared with European experiences.
