| Research project: | Probing Taiwan-ness: Indigenous Ecofeminist Glocal Insight on Climate Justice |
Ms. Lin Wan-Jou currently is pursuing her PhD at the National Taiwan Normal University (NCNU) in Taipei, Taiwan, where she focuses on topics in Indigenous communities through the lens of ecofeminism, post-colonialism, and the dialectics between indigenization and globalization.
Before beginning her Ph.D. studies, she served for several years as an Ecumenical Relations Specialist in the Ecumenical Relations Office of the Presbyterian Church in Taiwan. She has long been involved in the Ecumenical Movement, working to enhance dialogue on climate justice and women's empowerment through academic and faith-based initiatives. This research project is an interdisciplinary study that applies a feminist/ecofeminist approach to reveal the gender dynamics and environmental issues at play. While global climate justice discourse is often criticized for overlooking Indigenous wisdom on the environment and ecology, this project seeks to provide glocal insights into "Taiwanese Ecofeminism" and the "Global Climate Justice Movement."
