Chen Wei-Chen is a Ph.D. student in Ethnology at National Chengchi University, where he also obtained his M.A. His main research interest focuses on the interaction between political economy and religious practice. His master’s thesis explored the development of a Chinese salvationist religion “I-Kuan-Tao” in Taiwan during and after martial law era. For doctoral research, he adopts an infrastructure studies perspective to analyze how political and economic factors shape Muslim religious practices and identity formation. His fieldwork focuses on areas including Donggang and Longgang in Taiwan, as well as Bangkok, Thailand.
