Through constant involvement in the local and international community scheme and knowledge input taught by our qualified lecturers, students were able to appreciate the advantages of civic engagement. Our joint course “Civic Engagement in Europe: a Transdisciplinary Approach”, managed to advocate the importance of getting involved and put the basis for the continuing of the micro-programme as a compulsory unit. The course was offered by the University of Tübingen, University of Bucharest and the Autonomous University of Madrid. Courses on a wide range of topics are available, including heritage, inclusion, sustainability, intracultural controversies, and even chemistry-based topics such as Wastewater Treatment and Recovery. These are only a glimpse of the full spectrum offered this past semester.
During the CIVIS Global Days in Athens we got the opportunity to present our work, which inspired lecturers and students of the CIVIS alliance. As civic engagement continues to be a main goal of the CIVIS alliance, the micro-programme Civic Engagement will resume after September 2022! New possibilities for registrations will become available in November 2022.
