The University's Sustainability Award for Theses

Since 2001, the University of Tübingen annually stages the Sustainability Award for thesis. The challenge for sustainable development is to map out approaches for a globally fair and sustainable development of our society – in an ecological, economic, social and cultural perspective. The prize rewards Bachelor- and Master thesis, which show an outstanding focus on an issue of sustainable development. The prize comprises an award sum of € 300 for Bachelor thesis and € 500 for Master thesis. It will be awarded at an award ceremony. The event's highlight will be the Sustainability Lecture. The concept of the Sustainability Award was designed by the advisory board for Sustainable Development, which took up an idea by the student initiative Greening the University e.V. Tübingen. With the reward, the University of Tübingen creates incentives for a scientific discussion of the issue of sustainable development and makes its relevance more visible to society.
