The Environmental Biotechnology Group is looking for

Student/Scientific assistants (f/m/d, up to 40h/month)

Multiple positions are immediately available and are initially limited for 3 months with the possibility to extend further. The salary is based on current rates of remuneration for student and scientific assistants.

The Environmental Biotechnology Group is a modern and international research group with a focus on the valorization of waste streams, the storage of renewable energy via power-to-gas and power-to-protein processes as well as metabolic engineering of anaerobic microbes. Further information about our research can be found on envbiotech.de.

To support our team, we are looking for students (Bachelor or Master students) from life sciences or related fields, who would like to participate in the lab work and gather insights into current research techniques using different microbial species. Practical experience in basic lab methods is a plus but not essential and is also taught by our personnel.

Your tasks would include:

  • Helping with lab organization tasks (preparing equipment, autoclaving)
  • Preparing oxic and anoxic solutions and media
  • Helping with research projects (molecular cloning, preparation and analysis of fermentation samples on HPLC/GC, aerobic and anaerobic cultivation)
