MERCEDES BENZ MUSEUM

11.01.2017

The day of the visit to the Merc Museum was one of my top priority list, a day which I always told myself I cannot afford to miss it, hence I did all I could to ensure that me and my colleague we get there, thanks to our beautiful host mother, such a significant notable woman indeed. We got there we met up with Barbara and we had a cup of coffee and actually got to know about the company from Joanne Dittrich, who explained about various jobs available in the company for graduates.

We then later met up with the other colleagues and we went to eat at the company restaurant where the food was delicious and all members had a decent meal that day. We then later headed to the museum to see the car collections. This was now my favorite part. I hanged with Donovan and Nthabi, we moved around the museum guided by the audio tour guides. We explored the building and we took a lot of pictures that day.

The Mercedes Benz excursion was amazing, the thought of seeing all various types of cars from ancient time to current time was proportionally out of this world. As a lover of automotive machines, I was excited from the beginning to actually step in the doors of the museum, I got to see amazing and fantasy cars that are not usually seen in public spaces.

When we got there I got to sit and talk with people who are really interested in cars, it was amazing how Mercedes Benz it's actually a big company with lots and lots of history behind its name. The company has evolved with all its products and the museum showcased how it moved from one generation to the other. I practically enjoyed every moment of it.

Overall my experience in Germany was great and I have future ambitions of coming back and possibly doing my PHD and for a job purpose Daimler is always my first option. The way the company treats its employees for me that was world class and being in that environment would be fruitful for my career and my personal development.

Lastly, I'd also like to applaud Barbara and her team for putting up together such wonderful experience for us and also my host family. Germany will always be my second home as I have made enough life time friends a day have met interesting people. As I head back to South Africa, I now possess a different mindset about various aspects of life.
