Admission is subject to a competitive selection procedure that includes individual interviews with faculty members. Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed in a video conference.
Application deadline: May 15.
Interviews with shortlisted applicants are scheduled for early June.
Letters of admission will be sent out by late June.

Admission to one of our Dual Degree Programs requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Economics with a grade better then 2.5, preferably a degree that amounts to 180 ECTS credits (e. g. a three-year Bachelor). European Economics applicants are expected to have solid intermediate knowledge in at least two of the following fields: Micro- and Macroeconomics, Foreign Trade and Trade Policy, Quantitative Methods, Finance and Investment Theory.
The program is free of tuition fees for all EU residents. The state of Baden-Württemberg has introduced fees for international non-EU students and second-degree students. For background information and for fee exemption options, please refer to this link.

Applicants must be fluent in English. Knowledge of German is not required to complete this program. However, German classes are available for international students.

Italian is not a formal requirement for studying in Pavia. However, it is strongly advised to take at least one language course in preparation of the stay abroad if the student is not yet fluent in Italian.

The School of Business and Economics has entered into double degree agreements with different partner universities all over the world. These programs offer participants an extraordinary opportunity to obtain two degrees at the same time. This integrated double degree Master program in European Economics is conducted in cooperation with the Università degli studi di Pavia (Italy), the University of Nottingham (UK) and the Aix-Marseille University (France). Designed as a two-year program to be completed in equal shares at the University of Tübingen and one of the partner universities, featuring a broad range of courses and granting two degrees, this Master program teaches students the skills and capabilities necessary to succeed in the European labor market. With one study year in Tübingen, Germany and one study year at the partner university participants experience two cultures, two campus lives and two academic perspectives.

This Master program is designed as an integrated double degree which means that a stay abroad of one year (two semesters) at a partner university is a fixed part of the curriculum.

The Module Handbook describes the goals and structure of a degree program. In the module handbook, you will find details of the type of modules offered and their respective workloads as well as te classes, requirements and assessment. An ideal course plan is set out in the module handbook to help you plan your studies. The module handbook and the exam regulations help you to understand the framework and conditions of your program, and enable you to choose the right modules/ classes.
The exam regulations contain the legally binding regulations for a degree program. They set out, for instance, which modules must be taken and which assessment must be completed in order to successfully complete the degree program. The exam regulations also regulate how often exams may be repeated, which deadlines apply to assessment, and how the final grade is calculated. The exam regulations and the module handbook help you to understand the framework and conditions of your program, and enable you to choose the right modules/ classes.

The M.Sc. in European Economics offers a Ph.D. track which is a fast track to a doctoral degree in our Doctoral Program in Economics (DPE).
The Ph.D. track requires 18 ECTS credits from courses explicitly marked as Ph.D.-oriented. These courses take students to the frontier of academic research.
